LIFE OF A PERSON WITH TM IN A "SLUMDOG” COUNTRY

I am not a great writer, but I think my story is important to communicate. I feel compelled to tell you my story.
Well in 2003, I was diagnosed with tm. I got a sudden pain in my shoulder area which was unbearable! Soon I lost my sensation in my hands and legs.
I was admitted in the hospital. It was Sunday. Most of the docs are not available on Sundays. Anyway, one neurosurgeon was present.
When I was in the hospital bed I still remember a comment by a young doctor.… Continue

My name is Abhijit Ganguly. I am 24 years old and from Kolkata, India. One evening in 2003, I was watching a football match on TV while lying on my bed. Suddenly, I felt severe pain in my shoulder and throughout my back, and the pain was rapidly intensifying with every second. I do work for a software company. I has hit by TM in May-2003. Till now had fair recovery. But struggling with some residue issues. Hope everything will goes fine & have good recovery.

- I'm 27 now... not yet married. Not have guts to marry bcoz of TM. Its very difficult part to tell a girl what i'm suffering from & what i cant do as compare to a normal person. I really dont want to ruin any girls life bcoz of my health issues. So thinking to wait for some more time. If i get any understanding girl, will see for the next step.
I don't have any contact in ur side that i can help u in job hunt. But if get any opportunity for MSC i can forward u. I cant access orkut from office, so will let u know when i can able access it.

- I am getting ready for Christmas.. it is so very cold here, -30C with the wind chill and we are getting more snow too. Nice to look at but not so nice to try to walk in with a cane and a leg brace!
I am now a Nurse, I got TM in 2004 and worked hard to get walking again so that I could go to school to be a nurse. I went back in 2005 and graduated in 2008. It was hard work but well worth it. I love it!
