Have TM and I am the new Ms. Wheelchair South Dakota

Hey All,

I joined awhile ago, but just now have some time to post who I am. My name is Kristi and my transverse myelitis was caused by a Lupus flare. I have been living with Lupus since I was 10 years old. I was just a baby when I got diagnosed with that awful disease. At 15 the Lupus went to my brain and caused a grand maul seizure and that's when the TM struck. My school didn't report me missing and my parents thought I was at school. I lay seizing for well over 8 hours. I wasn't supposed to live through the night, wake up from the coma, and here I am 15 years later and healthy as a horse so to speak. I'm a T1 paraplegic. My Lupus has been in remission for over 6 years and I believe my rheumatologist is now officially bored with me because nothing is wrong. Ha!

I am die hard Cowboys fan, but love all NFL football. I'm addicted to Fantasy Football and am quite good at it. I'm a huge flirt, they call me Kissing Kristi and I live life to the fullest. I drive a modified Nissan Titan from my wheelchair and I named him Witten and I also have a dog named Romo. I'm that hardcore of a fan.

I was crowned Ms. Wheelchair South Dakota in April and am having a blast with it. I get to do and meet some amazing people. I head to nationals in August and that is in Grand Rapids, MI. Looking forward to it. I'm busy making appearances and trying to raise money to get there.

That's me in a nutshell. If you want to know anything else, just ask me. I'm an open book. :)

read ur story...getting diagonised with Tm at such an early age is really difficult.

I love muzik a lot. I love the classic rock bands like pink flyod,led zepp,deep purple, guns n roses...i like reggae too..i love marley!
